Midnight Run

To have a listen, just click the play button.

tonight i had to
leave the stove top burning
the empty pan
wanted to be destroyed
sleepy neighbors
don't appreciate
they come upstairs
tell me to keep the noise
i keep it in my pocket

tonight i had to
keep the pace
run away
or learn my place

my fingers are heavy
lungs filled with cold
my legs wont move
my arms aren't so bold
a vision of beauty
i saw in the night
hair gently flowing
skin fluorescent white

tonight i had to
fight and yearn
runaways
always return

the air is still
the trees do not sway
a gentle chill
delicately slithering its way
across my naked skin
orange in the lamplight
everything is orange
but the orange winter leaves
have decided for tonight
that they'll glow red
under the darkened eaves

tonight i had to
leave this place
run away

If Only

These are the finalized lyrics for my song "If Only," which I actually wrote about a month ago. To have a listen, just click the play button.

Beautiful girl in the park after dark
who smiled with eyes so lonely
waiting for someone to give you a spark
to brighten your morning if only
life were kind
but you, you'll be just fine
if you give it a little time.

Beautiful boy how do you live day to day
with your laughter so cold and lonely
don't let your choices just flicker and fade
and leave you to wonder if only
life were kind
but you, you'll be just fine
if you give it a little time.

Unbearable pain, just hammer me down
i'm lost and alone and i just want to drown
and as i am dying i'll be laughing out loud
imbibing lost spirits if only
life were kind
but i, i'll be just fine
just give me a little...

Ugly young thing, so beat up and broken
curled up in the corner, so lonely
give me your hand or some other small token
and lead me to wonder if only
life were kind
but you, you'll be just fine
'cause you're such a beautiful girl.
